Night Shift Caregiver Jobs - San Antonio, TX

Visiting Angels San Antonio is looking for overnight caregivers to help senior clients in the north side of the city, including Stone Oak, Alamo Heights, and Medical Center. This is a full-time position with nights from 10 pm to 7 am, five nights a week.

It may not be for everyone, but it can be for the person who likes to work at night and prefers a quieter work environment away from the hustle and bustle of day in home care. Most of your shift will be very quiet as many clients will be sleeping the night away.

But you will be there for them when they wake up to go to the bathroom, check on something, or because they can't sleep. Your presence gives peace of mind to clients and their families, knowing that a trained caregiver is there during the night. Your primary responsibility is to see to their safety and welfare.

Application experience not required. The organization offers training in dementia awareness, fall prevention, night-time safety, and emergency procedures. You will also shadow an experienced caregiver for your first two overnight shifts, then work independently.

Job Responsibility:

• Help clients prepare for bed and settle in by 10:30 PM
• Assist with nighttime bathroom trips as needed
• Sit with clients during any episodes of nighttime confusion or restlessness
• Monitor the client's comfort and safety through the night
• Complete a written overnight log of sleep quality and any incidents
• Prepare a light breakfast and assist with the morning routine from 6 – 7 AM
• Hand off clearly and completely to the incoming day caregiver

Pay & Benefits

• $31,000 – $36,000 per year including overnight shift differential
• $1.50 per hour overnight differential on top of base pay
• Paid training covering dementia awareness, fall prevention, and senior safety
• Consistent weekly schedule — same five nights every week
• Mileage reimbursement for Stone Oak, Alamo Heights, and Medical Center routes
• Option to transfer to day shifts after 90 days if preferred
