A Portland family is looking for a full-time caregiver for their 77-year-old mother, Eleanor, through the CareLinx platform. Eleanor lives alone in southeast Portland’s Sellwood neighborhood. She is a Type 2 diabetic, has arthritis in both knees and some hearing loss. Physically she is limited but completely independent in her thinking and in her opinions about how she wants her day to run.

Eleanor doesn’t want a guy who talks to her like she’s a patient. She wants a caregiver who will treat her like an adult, who will follow her preferences without be told twice, and who will get through the day without turning every task into a production. Her interests include her cat, Biscuit; gardening; and British mysteries. She has very strong breakfast ideas and almost no lunch ideas.

Job Responsibility:

• Assist Eleanor with her morning shower, dressing, and hair each day

• Drive Eleanor to medical appointments using her personal vehicle
• Accompany her on short outings — garden center, coffee, occasional errands
• Handle light housekeeping and care for Biscuit the cat
• Keep the family updated on Eleanor's daily condition via a brief written note

Pay & Benefits

• $39,520 – $45,760 per year based on experience, paid weekly through CareLinx
